JOHN SNYDER

PERSONAL TRAINER

Education & Experience

John has over 15 years of experience training with a variety of clients all with a wide variety of goals. John is a graduate of Otterbein College and was a member of the Otterbein Football team. John is an accomplished powerlifter and a member of the Westside Barbell Club.

"My experience at WSB has been an invaluable experience as a trainer. Training with and around some of the greatest minds in powerlifting as well as strength coaches from the NFL, NCAA, and NBA has taught me so much and I'm grateful for it."

John has trained athletes, powerlifters, bodybuilders, and fitness competitors but his true passion is helping regular folks. "I love working with people who have goals but just don't know how to get there. I love being part of that two person team as we reach those goals together. In the past, I have worked with multiple women who came to me at 400 pounds and in 2.5 years got down to under 150 pounds. I can honestly say I am just as proud of that as I am my best powerlifting numbers."

Q: Favorite book?

A: Hagakure by Yamamoto Tsunetomo.

Q: What’s been the most important part of getting to where you are now as a fitness professional?

A: The most important thing I’ve learned is taking the knowledge and skills I gained from powerlifting and distilling that information down in a way that regular folks can understand and benefit from. Everyone is exactly the same and everyone is completely different at the same time. Gaining an understanding of both powerlifters and regular folks has been extremely eye opening for me and made me a better coach.

Q: Favorite movie?

A: It’s a tie between Godfather and Jaws.
